Synopsis: Everything seems to be going perfect in young Vaidehi’s life, what with her falling in love with the perfect guy for her — Ram. But just as you think that things are hunky dory, there is a twist. Is Ram really who Vaidehi thinks he is? Prashant Raj has his own brand of cinema, which fans are aware of. They are part laugh riots and part candy floss, with good-looking actors and beautiful locations to give viewers a visual treat. While he has retained his style in Dalapathi, Prashant has tried to helm a ‘mass’ subject. The film has some good twists, but it falters as it falls prey to all the usual staples of a massy film — unwanted comic scenes being yoked in that slow down the narrative, and some unplanned insertion of songs. The film begins with a court trial of a family and suddenly jumps into a love story. How are these connected and what happens to everyone involved forms the rest of the story. The film has some cutesy moments for the love story, but the masala elements around it seem a little too loud and too forced at times. The film leaves one wondering whether it would have had a better impact if it was trimmed by 15 minutes or so.
